Calderside Academy is proud to announce that Chloe McIntosh, one of our dedicated and outstanding pupils, played a significant role in the official launch of the Poppyscotland Appeal 2024 at the Scottish Parliament on 30th October. Chloe’s presentation highlighted the importance of remembrance and community support for veterans and those serving in the Armed Forces.

This prestigious event was attended by an impressive array of figures, including Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs), and distinguished representatives from the Army, Royal Marines, Royal Air Force, and Royal Navy. The session was overseen by the Parliament’s Presiding Officer, emphasising the significance of the occasion.

Chloe's contribution showcased her confidence, eloquence, and passion for supporting charitable causes that commemorate and assist service members and veterans. Her speech was met with praise from attendees and underscored the vital role that young people play in championing meaningful causes within Scotland and beyond.
